Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced dining environment. As a Server, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests while ensuring that all service standards are met.
Duties
- Greet and welcome guests promptly with a friendly demeanor.
- Present menus and provide detailed information about food and beverage offerings, including daily specials.
- Take accurate orders using Spot-On POS ensuring all guest preferences are noted.
- Upsell menu items to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
- Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met.
- Monitor guest needs throughout their meal, providing attentive service and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication regarding orders and special requests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including bussing tables and adhering to sanitation standards.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and providing change as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training related to food safety, culinary techniques, and customer service best practices.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant roles is preferred, with fine dining experience being a plus.
- Bilingual speaking English and Spanish is a plus.
- Familiarity with Spot-On POS or similar point-of-sale systems is highly desirable.
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tables during busy shifts.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with guests effectively.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and processing payments accurately.
- Knowledge of food handling practices, sanitation standards, and safety regulations within the food industry is essential.
- Experience in guest relations or hospitality roles will be considered an asset.
