Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Radon Mitigation Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position that involves hands-on manual labor, utilizing technical skills to address indoor air quality issues by installing radon mitigation systems in residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have experience in the restoration industry and possess knowledge of radon and mold mitigation. Mostly what we are looking for is communication, consistency, and a good work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Install radon mitigation systems to reduce radon levels in accordance with industry standards and company procedures.
- Utilize power tools, hand tools, and other equipment to drill, cut, and seal materials as part of the installation process.
- Evaluate structures to determine the appropriate system design and installation strategy.
- Communicate with clients to explain the installation process and answer any questions.
- Identify and troubleshoot challenges that arise during installation, adapting plans as needed to ensure functionality and compliance.
- Load and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Maintain an organized and stocked company vehicle.
- Test mitigation systems to ensure proper operation and verify reduction of radon levels.
- Complete final clean-up and review work with clients to ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Utilize power tools and equipment for various restoration projects, as this job is manual labor. This includes lifting up to 75 lbs, climbing ladders, occasionally working on rooftops, and performing tasks in confined spaces (crawl spaces, attics, and basements).
- Previous experience in construction, HVAC, plumbing, or related trades is a plus, but not required.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Certification in radon mitigation (if not currently certified, the company may sponsor training for the right candidate). We understand that many of the people who see this job listing are not certified in radon mitigation, do not let this hold you back from applying.
