What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse- RN position at GUIDANCE CENTER OF LEA COUNTY?
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primarily responsible to serve as a member of a multi-disciplinary service team in the role of Clinic Nurse. Primary responsibility includes medication monitor and on-going assessment of all clients taking medication, coordination of psychiatric clinic care, coordination of mental health care with community physicians and consulting psychiatrists. Responsible for ensuring that clients on medication receive their prescribed medication. Serve as a liaison between GCLC and the Public Health Department. Other duties as requested by the Nursing Supervisor. Maintain confidentiality for all information regarding clients, staff, physicians, and GCLC obtained as a result of employment at GCLC.
LEVEL AND DEGREE OF SUPERVISION:
Supervised by the Med Clinic Program Manager. Clinical Supervision provided by the Med Clinic Program Manager and Medical Director with direction from the consulting pharmacist, Psychiatrist and Nurse Practitioner. Supervision to include one (1) hour per week supervision and participation in case staffing, general, and team meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Current RN licensure by New Mexico State Board of Nursing. Licensure must be maintained during period of employment. Employee is responsible for obtaining continuing education to maintain appropriate licensure and to attend in-service training sessions designed to provide training in accordance with GCLC, DOH, and Medicaid Standards. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
CONDITIONS OF WORK:
Hiring and promotion will be accomplished in compliance with GCLC’s Equal Opportunity Employment/Affirmative Action Policy. Position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Position consists of 40 hours per week, generally Monday through Friday. Hours or days may vary according to need. Travel may be required of employee for delivery of services, training, or conferences. Personal transportation is mandatory.
