Scaffold Builder Helper

Description

•  Assist Scaffold Builder with the following:
• Erects and dismantles scaffolding to provide work platforms on the worksite for temporary work such as painting, repairing welding, or other work required to construct a structure.
• Must do daily inspections. 
• Put system together to support temporary work access. 
• Select materials and fit together steel pipes. 
• Place planks over horizontal bars to create platforms. 
• Check levels in scaffolding structures.
• Perform other related job duties as assigned safely and efficiently. 
• Follow instructions, written and verbal, with little or no supervision.

• Turning, twisting, bending, and stooping: These physical requirements are essential job functions.

• Pushing and Pulling: These physical requirements are essential job functions.

• Reaching, forward, and reaching overhead: These are essential job functions/physical requirements.

• Climbing: This is an essential job function/physical requirement.

• Balancing, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing: These are all considered normal physical duties/requirements and would be needed/required to work in this industrial environment safely and efficiently.

• Lifting- Employee should be able to lift up to 25 lbs., and 50-75 lbs. on occasion.

Job Requirements

• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

• Must be able to pass a background check.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

• 2 years’ experience as a scaffold builder

Preferred Qualifications

Highschool diploma or GED.

Tools and Equipment Used

Scaffold builders must know and have previously worked with pliers, hammers, wrenches, lifting devices, safety equipment (belt, harness, etc.), man lifts, and high reach equipment.

Environmental Conditions

80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperatures, hot, cold, humid, wet and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc. Scaffold builders may also be exposed to fumes (paint, paint thinners, diesel, gas, etc.)
