Position Overview
We’re looking for a highly experienced Gunsmith who can work independently and bring expertise across a wide range of firearm types—modern, antique, and custom-built—across all makes, models, and eras. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and completing upgrades with efficiency and precision.
This is a fixed-schedule, part-time position. Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and comply with all firearm safety standards and legal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, and maintain a wide variety of firearms (pistols, rifles, shotguns)
- Perform thorough cleaning, diagnostics, and function testing
- Install aftermarket components, optics, and accessories
- Conduct basic modifications and safety checks
- Maintain accurate service records
- Interact with customers in a professional and knowledgeable manner
- Ensure strict compliance with ATF, state, and local firearm regulations
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional gunsmithing experience, OR a certified gunsmithing education with equivalent hands-on training
- In-depth knowledge of firearm function and repair
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Must be legally permitted to handle firearms and pass a background check
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cerakote or firearm finishing
- Machining and metalworking experience
- TIG welding skills
- Experience with AR-style platforms, 1911s, and vintage firearms
- Knowledge of California firearm regulations
- Prior customer service experience
Schedule
