Requirements:
To be seriously considered for this role, you’ll need to have:
- Education: Master’s Degree from an approved program of Speech/Language Pathology.
- Experience: Clinical training with a variety of client populations.
- Licenses/Certification: Must hold a valid Certificate of Clinical Competence outlined by ASHA. Maintenance of CPR or BLS
- Skills –
- Ability to take proper history and use evaluation methods in accordance with established guidelines
- Documents prognosis, as well as predicted optimal level of improvement in function and amount of time needed to reach that level.
- Develop a treatment program in collaboration with patient/care giver as appropriate.
- Must be comfortable taking care of pediatric, adolescent as well as adult and geriatric patients.
Responsibilities:
As the Speech Pathologist at Gunnison Valley Health, you will be evaluating and treating patients utilizing the parameters established by the American Speech and Hearing Association. This is a physically, emotionally and mentally challenging job. You’ll utilize your unique skills and ideas by:
- Designing individualized treatment programs appropriate to achieving short and long-term goals, in collaboration with the patient or the patient’s caregiver.
- Demonstrating awareness of the patient’s status by making program changes in response to changes in the patient or his environment.
- Performing adult and geriatric dysphagia evaluations appropriately according to the ASHA practice standards.
- Documenting prognosis including predicted optimal level of improvement in function. Short-term goals are clear, measurable, functional, and time specific. Long-term goals are clear, measurable, functional, and time specific.
Compensation: $34.69/hr - $43.95/hr, depending on experience.
