Gunter Construction Company is seeking an experienced and skilled Heavy
Equipment Operator to support our civil construction projects. Operators
must have a strong understanding of safety, precision, and efficiency,
and must be comfortable reading blueprints and working under the
direction of a foreman.
Key Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment such as track hoes,
loaders, bulldozers, compactors, blades, and curb machines
Perform fine grading with dirt, rock, and other materials
Accurately cut, dig, compact, and perform finished grading operations to
reduce material overruns
Remove concrete curbs, sidewalks, and pavement strategically and
efficiently
Read and interpret blueprints and elevation markers (cut/fill)
Conduct hand digging at utility crossings as needed
Complete daily pre- and post-operation inspections with proper
documentation
Maintain a clean and safe job site, following OSHA regulations and
company safety standards
Follow foremans instructions regarding daily tasks and project timelines
Assist team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment
Maintain equipment in proper operating condition and report issues
Be available to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required
Represent Gunter Construction in a professional and courteous manner at
all times
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience in construction
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to maintain equipment
Experience operating a curb machine
Proficiency in reading blueprints and using GPS for grading (preferred)
Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness
Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
Reliable transportation
Must pass background check and drug screening
