Gurwin Healthcare System is a full continuum of care providing extraordinary care and caring to the people that we serve. Set on a 34-acre campus in Commack, NY, the Gurwin Healthcare System includes the 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, memory care, respiratory and ventilator care, palliative and hospice care, social and medical adult day programs, and on-site dialysis and infusion therapy. Sharing the campus is Gurwin’s Assisted Living community (Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences), our Certified Home Health Agency, and our soon-to-be-built independent living community (Fountaingate Gardens). Our Gurwin Licensed Home Care Services Agency has an office in Farmingdale, NY.
EVENING SHIFT 3:00PM-11:15PM with ROTATING WEEKENDS
Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a renowned healthcare provider located on Long Island, NY which offers a full continuum of services. The Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a 460 bed facility providing services for short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, home care programs, an adult day health program, ventilator dependent care, palliative and hospice care, a new Memory Care Unit and on-site dialysis. The Gurwin Family of Services also includes the 201-apartment Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner assisted living community, and the proposed Fountaingate Gardens independent living community, to be built on the Commack campus.
Our innovative facility and growing services offer opportunities to advance your career. We are currently seeking a full-time Housekeeper for our EVENING shift (3:00PM-11:15PM) who will embody the passion and commitment required to deliver the ultimate care for our residents.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Duties include keeping assigned areas clean, sanitary and aseptic by scouring, scrubbing, mopping, polishing, using germicides, including wet and dry dusting.
- Candidate must have the ability to use equipment and keep it neat and clean according to department requirements.
Requirements include:
- Experience in floor care, including stripping, waxing and buffing in a hospital or nursing home preferred.
- Candidates with experience in a hospital or nursing home preferred.
- Knowledge of the dementia population and dealing with related behaviors.
- Understands written and oral instruction.
- Understands and absorbs new work methods.
- Capable of completing schedules effectively.
- Capable of standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
