Cafe Team Member

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Team Member to join our fast-paced team in a Quick Service Cafe. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a commitment to delivering a high-quality dining experience. The ideal candidate will be ready and willing to learn all areas of the cafe including kitchen/food prep, front counter/sales, and soon drink prep/barista.

Responsibilities:

- Greet and serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring their needs are met and their expectations are exceeded.
- Operate a cash register, accurately handling transactions and managing cash and credit card sales.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with restaurant standards, including maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dining area.
- Perform various duties such as bussing tables, clearing trash, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for customers.
- Utilize retail math skills to manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain accurate records.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and ensuring seamless transitions between shifts.
- Provide exceptional customer service by actively listening, addressing concerns, and offering recommendations to enhance their dining experience.
- Develop strong relationships with customers, promoting loyalty and repeat business.
- Upsell and promote menu items to increase sales and drive revenue growth.
- Collaborate with other team members to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Food prep.
- Working in the kitchen to prepare food orders

Experience:
- Prior experience in the food service industry, particularly in a Quick Service Fast Food Restaurant, is an asset.
- Experience in a related role, such as a cashier or server, is also valued.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Skills:

- Proficiency in basic math and retail math.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in food service, particularly in a Quick Service Fast Food Restaurant.
- Knowledge of cash register operations and point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Basic math skills for calculating change and handling transactions.
- Experience with bussing tables and maintaining a clean environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to upsell and promote menu items to increase sales.

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $11.50 - $13.50 per hour
