PART-TIME GROUNDS ATTENDANT POSITION SUMMARY
The Authority is currently recruiting a part-time Grounds Technician to join Georgia World Congress Center. The Grounds Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining Centennial Olympic Park, Georgia World Congress Center, and designated parking lots, parking decks, and landscaping areas while consistently delivering quality experiences. Ideal candidates will share our values of authenticity, accountability, and teamwork while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.
PART-TIME GROUNDS ATTENDANT PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is moderately exposed to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The ability to lift 50 pounds or more may be required of this position. Daily shifts will endure various degrees of walking, standing, turning, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, pushing and pulling, requiring a full range of body movements. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.
PART-TIME GROUNDS ATTENDANT ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direction of the Facility Managers, the Grounds Attendant maintain the exterior and certain interior areas as required, using basic cleaning methods
- Inspect and clean exterior grounds, parking lots, and parking decks daily
- Remove bulk trash, leaves, and tree limbs
- Monitor and inspect the work of exterior plant and landscaping maintenance contractors
- Notify management about any discrepancies
- Monitor facility entrances and floor areas during adverse weather conditions
- Implement basic safety procedures during daily routine
- Keep exterior free of unsightly weeds
- Complete daily tasks assigned in a cooperative manner
- Perform general manual labor associated with housekeeping and set-up functions
- Distribute equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on gutter troughs
- Safely operate carts, pickup trucks, forklifts and various landscaping equipment
- Perform such other duties, functions, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned
- Actively participate in The Authority training programs as required
- Accurately document and complete administrative paperwork
- Comply with The Authority policies and procedures associated with such programs as risk management, safety, and emergency management
- Maintain an ethical and professional image when interacting with internal and external customers in to ensure customer satisfaction
- Perform other duties as assigned
PART-TIME GROUNDS ATTENDANT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- High degree of integrity and compliance
- Thoroughness in task approach, follow-up and completion
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to manage workload using own initiative
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with limited resources
- Detail oriented
- Assess, weigh and manager
- Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, holidays while also performing tasks and assignments to meet the increasing demands of live events.
PART-TIME GROUNDS ATTENDANT EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license
