Dispatch Router

Cash-Wa Distributing of Fargo is the largest family-owned broad-line food distributor in the Midwest. Serving our customers with the best service in the industry is our top priority. We are seeking an innovative, results-oriented individual to join our Fargo Delivery Team as a Dispatch Router. This position is a key role for our distribution center and assists our delivery team. The router facilitates the efficient and timely delivery of customer orders using Roadnet software to generate the best possible route solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Route customer orders in the most efficient way possible under constant time and accuracy constraints while adhering to established procedures, protocols, and customer commitments.
• Plans routes. This includes integrating new customers into existing routes, determining where new routes and shuttle yards are needed and planning for necessary route adjustments due to seasonality.
• Analyzes existing routes for opportunities to reduce miles, delivery days and hours to improve cost control and consistency of deliveries.
• Performs standard route maintenance to capture these changes.
• Schedules drivers on a daily and or weekly basis to remain within overtime guidelines and hours of service laws and regulations including adjustments for volume and holidays.
• Maintain and provide accurate daily loading and door information for the warehouse department.
• Ensures compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and other applicable regulations.
• Maintains Roadnet system.
• Creates proposals for transportation management to improve efficiency, customer service, and safety.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Good Analytical/Mathematical Skills.
• Excel knowledge required.
• Roadnet experience preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Essential Functions

• Ability to talk and hear both in person and on the phone
• Constant sitting; frequent standing and walking short distances
• Frequent use of arms, hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone and perform other desk-top duties.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Ability to learn new computer applications/software.
