Summary
Position Highlights:
The Cashier Representative accepts all payments via the Business Office Cashier office for Moffitt Cancer Center and Moffitt Medical Group services rendered and provides a receipt. Checks balances for patient upon request and provides patients with directions to Customer Service Representatives and other Cancer Center locations.
Responsibilities:
- Processes petty cash reimbursements Ensure that all customer payment transactions and all other communications conducted at the Cashier window are handled in a courteous, professional and prompt manner.
- Maintain a general knowledge of patient accounting functions in order to direct the patient and/or representative to the appropriate financial counselor or funding specialist.
- Responsible for vault contents, which consists of 3 funds (main cash drawer, petty cash drawer and Physicians Study petty cash drawer). Other valuables include daily deposits:
- Reimburse Moffitt employees for supplies, travel expenses, etc. within guidelines from the petty cash drawer. Maintain the petty cash drawer by balancing receipts and cash on a daily basis. Prepare and facilitate the request for petty cash reimbursement from accounting on a regular basis.
- Accept payment and issue a receipt to Moffitt employees for new or replacement badges and/or security access cards.

Credentials and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience cash handling and deposit balancing as well as cash reconciliation processes.
The Ideal Candidate will preferably have:
- Experience with Healthcare and Insurance explanation of benefits.
- Banking teller experience preferred.
- Good organizational skills
- Communicate and work well in a team environment
- Meet established production and quality goals/metrics
- Follow up in a timely manner on open items
- Able to effectively prioritize work on a daily basis
- Must be proficient in Excel and Word
