Position Summary:
Habitat Forsyth is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented History & Archives Intern to assist in organizing, digitizing, cataloging, and preserving materials documenting our 40-year history. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or current student in history, archival studies, or a related field who is passionate about storytelling, historical preservation, and community service.
Responsibilities:
- Sort, organize, scan and catalog historical photographs, documents, and other archival materials
- Identify, label, and digitally archive photos and historical records
- Assist in developing a comprehensive timeline of Habitat Forsyth’s milestones, projects, and community impact
- Compile and summarize key stories, homeowner profiles, and notable events from the past 40 years
- Support the creation of materials to be used for anniversary publications, exhibits, and online content
- Help establish an organized, sustainable archive system for future use
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Recent graduate or current student majoring in History, Archival Studies, Museum Studies, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Interest in archival work, historical research, and community history
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic digital file management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
