Position: Community Engagement Coordinator
Reports to: Executive Director
Job Summary: The Community Engagement Coordinator will be the affiliate’s lead for fielding inquiries in the areas of homeowner selection, critical home repair and volunteer opportunities. This employee will represent the affiliate throughout our service area communities to increase awareness of the Habitat for Humanity mission, recruit potential partner homeowners, expand our volunteer network and advocate for affordable housing in Greater Bangor.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain social media platforms, website, necessary applications, forms, and promotional materials for the affiliate and ReStore programs.
- Represent affiliate at community events to increase awareness of HFHGB’s need for project support and volunteer involvement.
- Connect with key staff regarding volunteer needs on all affiliate sites and in the ReStore to ensure community access to these opportunities.
- Coordinate with board and affiliate staff to promote advocacy for affordable housing both through social media and via in-person outlets.
- Coordinate with the Resource Development Committee to assist in planning with ongoing events and fundraising initiatives.
- Keep community resource database up to date to ensure affiliate is providing relevant assistance resource information to all inquiries.
- Provide administrative support as requested by Executive Director and Executive Board.
- Assist Executive Director, Construction Manager, and ReStore Manager in any volunteer trainings and community recognitions as requested.
Position Requirements:
- Commitment to uphold the mission of Habitat for Humanity and see our local vision grow during their time with the organization.
- College degree or high school diploma and at least 3 years working in a public facing office environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skill.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, social media platforms, and familiarity with graphics programs such as Adobe or Canva are preferred.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills as well as the ability to train all levels of individuals in key safety and organizational policy areas.
- High level of organization, attention to detail and ability to adapt to a changing work environment.
Salary and Benefits:
Competitive pay based on experience. Position is budgeted as part-time, approximately 25-30 hours a week but could evolve into full-time with the right skill set.
