Summary: Properly clean and maintain 10-15 rooms per day while meeting all housekeeping quality standards. Room attendants are to promote a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest, friendly and should also be able to address guest request and problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Make beds and change out linens/towels
• Vacuum carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies
• Empty wastebaskets, clean ashtrays and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas
• Sweep and mop floors
• Dust, polish furniture and equipment
• Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies and bathroom items
• Clean kitchen areas and dishes
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail
• Respond promptly to requests by guests and other department managers
• Observe precautions to protect guests and hotel property
• Report all theft, damage and found property to the Supervisor or Manager on Duty
• Assist in cleaning public areas when needed
• Maintain the cleanliness of housekeeping closets and carts
• Manage time to complete all assigned tasks by the end of the shift
• Work as a team to ensure everything gets done daily
• Organization and thoroughness
• Preparing rooms in minimal length of time while respecting guest privacy
• Check and flip or report mattress rotation needs
• To follow all specified procedures as specified in the HDS Employee Handbook
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds, on a regular basis.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, stand and reach overhead for prolonged periods.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to work independently, and work cooperatively with the team
