Warehouse Associate

45 year old family-owned logistics and transportation company in search of full- time warehouse employee with computer skills and operating scanners. Monday - Friday (Some Saturdays) 3:00AM - 11:00AM depending on work load. Typically 8 hours daily.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for working with the Operations Manager to coordinate work flow, and assist in supervising the warehouse’s day-to-day activities. Helps in adjusting schedules as assigned by the Operations Manager in both shipping and receiving areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Organizational Management

• Assists with the day-to-day activities of the warehouse. Such activities include shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance, inventory control, etc.

• Assist with the warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations.

• Recommends equipment requirements and replacements to the Warehouse Supervisor in order to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency.
• Helps ensure a productive labor climate in the warehouse operation.
• Operates various equipment including but not limited to: forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and box truck to ensure products are staged or stored in appropriate locations within the warehouse.
• Monitors and measures receiving and warehouse performance for accuracy assists in staging, sorting, loading, receiving, and delivering of various products.
• Willingly completes other duties as assigned

Technology

• Use of operating systems, office equipment (copiers, fax machines, scanners), a personal computer and Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Explorer.
• lift or maneuver 50 to 100lbs regularly
• Assist with the day-to-day activities of the warehouse.

• Such activities include shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance, inventory control,- Maintain a safe and clean workplace- Recommend equipment requirements and replacements to the Supervisor in order to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of GED and two years of experience in a warehouse
• Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with transportation management software.

• Highly organized, detail oriented.
• Access to reliable transportation. If driving an automobile while on company business, must possess a valid driver’s license in state of residence and auto insurance. Must be able to pass a background check, MVR and drug screen.
• Work effectively with internal and external individuals, including other professionals in the community.

• Work effectively as a member of a team.
• Effectively communicate to various internal and external audiences in both person and through various electronic media.
• Manage time and work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Frequently (50% of time) required to walk and talk or hear.

Must be willing to submit to and pass a background check, MVR and Drug Screen.

Job Type: Full-time
