Get to Know Your Team:
- Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
The Pathology Assistant functions as a professional who assumes responsible for assisting the Pathologist with autopsies, performing or assisting in accessioning, dissection, grossing, evisceration, description, and histologic sampling of a full range of surgical specimens under the general supervision of a Pathologist.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree, Anatomic Pathology, or equivalent education / experience
- Familiarity with Anatomic Pathology procedures, techniques and instrumentation, experience including grossing surgical specimen
- 3 years’ experience at a hospital laboratory performing technical duties relating to anatomic pathology
Preferred Job Requirements:
- ASCP or equivalent certification as a Pathology Assistant
- Familiarity with Epic Lab information system
