Duties:
The Building Substitute is responsible for taking over the classroom instructional duties as well as specialists’ classes. Additionally, the Building Substitute may be required to provide instructional support for students with disabilities in accordance with their IEP. They should be able to develop lessons, use technology, and work in a team teaching environment. The Building Substitute keeps appropriate records, provides support at lunch and recess, offers a safe, nurturing environment for students, and establishes clear expectations for behavior and learning. Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher. Teaching experience in an urban setting with diverse student populations. Strong listening, communication, and collaborative skills for working with faculty, students and caregivers.
