Duties and Responsibilities:
- Checks patient medical records for past histories, enter in treatments and charges in computer
- Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients.
- Maintains client educational material in an efficient manner.
- Performs departmental housekeeping duties.
- Perform specimen testing procedures accurately on blood, urine, or other samples according to medical orders using all related equipment and computers
- Dispense medication and feed patients as directed
- Communicate with patient's owner by describing medication, possible complications, and warnings
- Utilize computer system to enter and reference patient information as needed
- Document test results and deliver to appropriate personnel promptly
- Assure all materials are in exam rooms for doctors such as otoscopes and nail clippers
- Maintain cleanliness of exam room at all times
- Takes, processes and logs prescription refills in-house and call out pharmacy and online pharmacy
- Admits and discharges patients
- Monitoring hospital patients and logging vital signs.
- Administering medications to patients as needed.
- Placing catheters and performing blood draws.
- Restraining and assisting the doctor or technician during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
- Send out records, bloodwork and/or x-rays/ultrasound images for referrals as needed
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods
- Other duties as assigned by Doctor, Practice Manager, and/or Lead Veterinary Technician Supervisor

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in Georgia are preferred, but not necessarily required. We are open and willing to train the right candidate.
