We are looking for a highly capable project accountant to provide our project team with accounting support. As a Project Accountant, your primary responsibility is to support the project team regarding contracts, compliance, payments, and any other duties related to the project. Your duties will also include reviewing budgets and preparing financial reports.
To be successful as a project accountant, you should possess extensive experience in accounting and the ability to provide project managers with accurate financial information. Top-Notch project accountants ensure consistent billing and prepare reliable financial reports.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial records for assigned projects
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements
- Conduct analysis of project costs and variances
- Collaborate with project managers to track project budgets and expenses
- Ensure compliance with securities laws and regulations
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare pre-billing reports for project managers to review
- Monitoring receivable income and supporting project managers with collections
- Issue invoices, purchase orders and subcontracts for projects as well as paying supplier bills
- Updating contracts according to client requirements and reporting associated budget amendments
- Gather and submit close-out documents for projects
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in project accounting or related role
- Proficient in financial report writing and technical accounting standards
- Knowledge of corporate finance principles and practices
- Solid understanding of debits, credits, and double-entry bookkeeping
- Proficiency in electronic accounting and project management systems (Quick Books and ProCore)
- Extensive experience in project progress invoicing and billing
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Detail-oriented and highly motivated individual
- Excellent communication skills toward effective collaboration and client services
