What are the responsibilities and job description for the Division Controller position at Hanes Companies?
Hanes Industries in Conover, NC is seeking a Division Controller. Hanes is a converter and distributor of woven and nonwoven fabrics for numerous applications and markets including Automotive, Filtration, Home Furnishings, Packaging, Bedding and Furniture. Hanes’ parent company is Leggett & Platt Inc. (NYSE: LEG), a multi-billion-dollar diversified manufacturer. Leggett & Platt has 135 manufacturing facilities in 18 countries and employs over 20,000 partners worldwide.
Qualified applicants must have a working understanding of distribution business operations, including all aspects of accounting for procurement (international sourcing/supply chain). Major areas of responsibility include oversight of accounting staff, cost accounting, detailed margin analyses by product lines, operational variance analyses by market; monthly quarterly and annual roll up of branches and analyses at a consolidated business unit level.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Hiring, training, and leading competent accounting staff
- Ensuring adequacy of internal controls and GAAP compliance
- Strategic planning
- Responsible for preparation and presentation of financial information to key stakeholders
- Financial planning and modeling
- Forecasting and budgeting
- Support of operations and management with information and analysis vital to decision making
- Internal negotiations with sales, purchasing, finance and credit
- Financial due diligence for acquisitions
- Assist when needed to resolve operational issues at any of the 40 Hanes locations
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of related accounting experience, preferably in a distribution business environment. Public accounting experience, an advanced degree or professional certification is preferred.
