Los Angeles | On-Site | Underwriting
Salary Pay Range: $66,560-$70,000 Per Year. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
Knight Insurance Group is a leading provider of insurance solutions, dedicated to delivering comprehensive coverage to our clients across multiple states. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Underwriter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will assist in evaluating, selecting, and pricing property insurance risks in accordance with company guidelines to achieve profitability and growth objectives.
What you’ll do as an Underwriter:
- Review submission information required to issue new or renewal quotes
- Rate and prepare new or renewal quotes as directed by Senior Underwriter
- Review and process inspection recommendations and discrepancies
- Assist in policy issuance and endorsement processing
- Assist in accounting procedures such as invoicing
Qualifications
What we look for in our Underwriter:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Property & Casualty license preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience as support staff in the insurance industry (Insurance Agency experience a plus)
- Prior Homeowners insurance experience a plus
- Excellent computer skills including typing proficiency, Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheets
- Strong sales and marketing skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- High-level of motivation and willingness to take on challenges
- Ability to prioritize important and pressing tasks
