HANOVER TOWNSHIP IS HIRING -- YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT

- MUST BE 16 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.
Hanover Township Youth and Family Services is currently accepting applications for a part-time YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT. The Department is seeking highly motivated and creative individuals to assist with after school programs, which serve youth ages 5-18 throughout the Hanover Township area.
Hanover Township’s Open Gym Program is a combination of recreational, educational and social activities that takes place in safe, supervised school and park district facilities. The candidates will help develop, supervise and grow our teen-specific programs and activities for Hanover Township’s Youth Center which is in Elgin, Illinois.
The individuals will also be part of the quarterly evening teen-specific recreational and sports programs that include a partnership with surrounding park districts. Candidates will assist in positive youth development and prevention services, including mentoring, youth leadership, recreational activities and homework assistance.
Candidates must have the ability to interface effectively with diverse populations of youth, have a strong sense of self, self-awareness and confidence. This position requires high energy and a friendly demeanor, while keeping youth safe and involved in programming.
- The non-exempt position has a pay rate of $15.00 per hour.
- The position is scheduled for approximately 20 hours per week Monday – Friday.
- MUST BE AVAILABLE FROM 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Ability to work regular evenings and occasional weekends, as requested.
