Who you are – Residential Loan Processor

You are a dynamic, detail oriented, intuitive person with the ability to develop relationships, build rapport and become a trusted team member. What you'll do

  • Maintains the integrity of the loan data from time of application to closing.
  • Reviews new loan package for completeness of borrower information, and review and highlights potential issues on credit report such as undisclosed HELOC/2nd mortgage, fraud detection, red flag alerts, report comments, OFAC, public records, and date of 1st mortgage. Reviews and investigates red flags and fraud alerts from credit bureau or/or DU, and document findings.
  • Obtains pertinent documentation as directed by the Loan Officer or VP Residential Loan Operations. Ensure all documentation is uploaded to ImageFlow paperless system within MortgageBot.
  • Upon receipt of loan file from loan officer, reviews application data, updates all fees and send Initial Disclosure package to borrowers according to regulatory deadlines. Collects appropriate fees from borrower for application deposit. Prepares Rate Lock and Change of Circumstance disclosures when needed. Throughout the process, keeps borrowers informed regarding the status of the loan, both by phone and email.
  • Responds in a timely manner to borrowers’ and third-party agents’ (i.e. closing agents, appraisers, realtors etc.) inquiries during the mortgage process.
  • Utilizes MortgageBot reports to manage their pipeline, track the timely return of all required documentation (appraisals, titles, verifications, approval conditions, etc.). Keeps up to date on financing date and closing date on purchases.
  • Analyzes all documents to ensure loan packages are complete and accurate. Reviews documents for possible identity fraud, etc. Forwards the file to underwriting for approval.
  • Once approval is issued, responsible for tracking and collection of documentation to ensure conditions are satisfied. Once complete, generate Clear to Close form, update fees and submit to underwriting for final approval.
  • Represent the credit union in a professional manner; provide quality service to members and internal customers. Cross-sell CU products and services where applicable.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:

  • 1 – 3 years mortgage processing is preferable.
  • 1 – 3 years VA Mortgage loan processing experience preferred
  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • Must have good organizational, analytical and customer service skills.
  • Mortgage software computer skills.

Experience

Preferred
  • 1 - 3 years: VA mortgage loan processing
  • 1 - 3 years: mortgage processing

Education

Required
  • High School or better
