Laser Technician 1 – Non-Exempt - Second Shift

EBTEC has more than 45 years of experience executing precision high energy beam processes, including Electron Beam Welding, Laser Welding, Laser Cutting, Laser Drilling, EDM, Vacuum Heat Treating, and Waterjet Cutting, as well as traditional fabrication solutions for our clients' specific challenges. Utilizing the most advanced technologies and processes, we provide cost-effective services to some of the largest companies in the Aerospace, Defense, and Industrial industries. Additionally, this position is an entry level position, perfect for candidates who is looking to gain experience and grow from the ground up.
Location: Based out of East Windsor, CT
Reports to: Laser Supervisor
Shift: Second Shift
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Perform repetitive and routine tasks at the apprentice level in the preparation and setup of parts and materials to be laser processed. Perform simple laser operations.
- Duties include cleaning and preparation of all material and details.
- Setup of laser fixtures.
- Should be able to change adapters, including motors, gears and other preparation duties as they relate to fixtures, parts and the laser machines to be used.
- Complete setups are to be supervised be Production Lead Person.
- Perform laser machine cleaning and maintenance work as required or instructed by the Laser Supervisor.
- Remove scrap and material as required from laser machines and surrounding areas.
- Perform simple maintenance (lamp changes) as directed.
- Maintain records as required and/or directed.
- At the given level of experience report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to the proper level of supervision.
- Follow prescribed standards for safety and housekeeping.
- Cooperate fully with others and follow instructions as given.
- It is incumbent upon the apprentice to question instructions and/or directions not clear in the first instance.
- Perform a variety of other duties as required or directed.
- Report faulty or unusual conditions to the appropriate level of supervision.
- Ensure that safety and housekeeping standards are met.
- Perform other duties as required or directed, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.

- Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.
- Various other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Participate in training as required.
- 5-10% Domestic Travel required.
Physical Demands:
- Some lifting, moving instrumentation, performing tests in various areas of the facility required.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 35 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility
Work Environment:
- Work usually performed in a combination of office and plant setting
Requirements:
- Experience: Entry Level
- Basic reading, writing and some advanced arithmetic skills.
- Ability to use standard measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers and gauges.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
