JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our team. This role provides hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of our operations while supporting day-to-day tasks and projects. The Intern will work closely with team members and leadership to gain practical knowledge, build professional skills, and contribute to meaningful work. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate looking to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support daily operations across departments such as commercial, operations, finance, or compliance, depending on business needs.
- Conduct research and compile data related to global shipping trends, vessel sectors (e.g., Crude Oil & Refined Products, LNG, Ethane, LPG/Ammonia, LCO₂, LH₂), and market intelligence.
- Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and internal documentation for meetings and strategy sessions.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing fleet optimization, operational efficiency, and sustainability.
- Help track vessel performance metrics, logistics activities, and regulatory updates.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support communication and project follow-ups.
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas or findings as appropriate.
- Perform general administrative duties, such as organizing files, scheduling, and updating databases.
- Observe and learn about industry best practices, Hanwha Group operations, and the global shipping ecosystem.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications and Skills:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Geography, Engineering, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field
- Strong interest in global shipping, energy markets, or international business operations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, multicultural environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus
- Highly organized, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced setting
- Professional demeanor and a strong sense of responsibility and confidentiality
Work Authorization:
The ideal candidate for this role will have authorization to work in the US and/or South Korea prior to joining Hanwha or be on an active student visa.
