Job Description: Responsible for patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed health care provider.
Purpose of Job Description:
- Licensed practical nurse (LPN) acts as both an administrator and health care professional,
performing clinical duties and managing administrative tasks in the office and laboratories.
Administrative tasks may include: - Greeting patients and answering telephones: Meet and greet all patients in a helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, prompt manner.
- Gather accurate up-to-date medical history and accurately transfer that information to the computer software program.
- Keep abreast of clinic activity regarding practitioner’s presence.
- Be aware of patient needs.
- Assist coworkers in a team environment conducive to learning, support and
positivity. - Assistance and teamwork benefit the patient, organization, and a feeling of self-worth.
- Access patients, need in a timely, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful manner.
- Maintain certifications, such as medical certification, CPR, phlebotomy, etc.
- Maintain and understand current computer and phone systems.
- Accomplish daily and monthly set duties based on location.
Preparation - A working understanding of health care technology including HIPAA, EHR programs, and various medical electronic systems. It also requires a good command of Microsoft products predominantly Word.
