What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Victim Engagement Advocate position at Harbor House of Central Florida?
Harbor House is seeking an experienced, dynamic individual to work closely with partners in the criminal justice system to identify survivors of domestic violence in high-lethality cases. Assesses survivors' needs and provides advocacy and case management services to the individuals and families involved, including support throughout the criminal court process.
Education and Training: Minimum of an undergraduate degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field is preferred. Professional experience may be substituted for formal education at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.
Other Job Requirements: This position requires knowledge of case management skills, the ability to provide effective and immediate crisis intervention for clients, and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Basic to intermediate computer skills are required. Must attend a 3-day training in order to become CORE certified prior to working with survivors.
Experience: Minimum of two years of service management experience preferably in a domestic violence program, law enforcement, or other related victim advocate program.
