What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Course Starter/Marshall position at Harbor Pines Golf Club?
Overview:
Looking for someone with an upbeat and outgoing personality who can deal respectfully and professionally with the public. Knowledge in the game of golf and previous experience as a Marshall/Starter is preferred, but not required.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain pace of play by continual monitoring of the golf course.
- Explain rules and regulations and pace guidelines to golfers as needed.
- Be sure all players are following club policies and procedures.
- Monitor course conditions and report damaged or hazardous areas requiring attention or maintenance.
- Perform daily check list including but not limited to: picking driving range, filling sand bottles, maintaining water coolers, and assisting Golf Attendants with staging of carts as needed.
- Explain rules of the games to players and settle disputes.
- Communicate all golf course activities with Pro Shop throughout your shift.
- Keep a daily log of activities.
- Assist golfers as needed.
- Starter duties include all of the above as well as collecting paid slips to ensure only authorized golfers are on the course.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Pro Shop supervisors.
If you have a flexible schedule, can lift 30 lbs, and are able to work outside in seasonal temperatures, please respond and include work history and 2 references.
