Summary:
At Harcros Chemicals Inc., an employee-owned company with a rich legacy in specialty chemical manufacturing and distribution, we're continuously expanding. With 2 manufacturing plants and 27 distribution facilities across 20 states, we're seeking a dedicated Plant Manager to join our team to assist with opportunities. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for ensuring efficient production, maintaining high-quality standards, managing staff, optimizing resources, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
 
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Oversee and manage aspects of plant operations, including production, quality control, inventory management, and maintenance.
  • Ensure plant operations are efficient, cost-effective, and maintain a high standard of quality.
  • Continuously improve production processes and reduce waste to maximize profitability.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise plant personnel, including production workers, supervisors, and maintenance teams.
  • Develop staffing plans, monitor employee performance, and provide training to enhance skills and ensure workforce efficiency.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment by maintaining open communication and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety by implementing safety protocols, conducting regular safety audits, and ensuring that all employees are trained in safety procedures.
  • Develop and manage the plant's budget, ensuring that expenditures are controlled and aligned with financial goals.
  • Implement and maintain quality control systems to ensure products meet customer and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure products are produced with high-quality standards and procedures are followed.
  • Address any quality issues and work with teams to resolve them promptly.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in all aspects of plant operations, including production efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the plant and senior management to report on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Provide regular updates on plant performance, production metrics, and operational issues.
  • Other job duties may be assigned.
 
Education and/or Experience:
  • High school Diploma or General Education Degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant experience; including 2-4 years in a supervisory role.
  • Chemical Experience is a plus.

Physical Capabilities & Requirements:
  • Physical requirements include lifting and moving various weights up to 100 pounds.
  • Physical requirements will also include standing or sitting for long periods of time.
  • Visual abilities include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
  • Safely work with hazardous chemicals and use the required PPE.
 
Work Environment:
  • Work environment includes exposure to outdoor weather conditions and mechanical equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals.
  • Noise level is moderate to loud.
  • Occasionally work at elevated and heights.
