DSP (Direct Support Professional)

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and seniors in a variety of settings, including assisted living facilities and nursing homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance clients' well-being.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences.
• Monitor clients' physical and emotional health, reporting any changes or concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with mobility and heavy lifting as needed to ensure client safety.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations, including HIPAA guidelines.
• Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and independence.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements

• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or in senior care settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of CPR and first aid is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of the clients.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for this role.
• Previous experience in nursing homes or assisted living facilities is a plus.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Direct Support Professional: 1 year (Required)
