Click on the following link to view the full salary range on the License Salary Schedule: https://www.hsd2.org/our-district/financial-transparency Job Summary: The Reading Interventionist works closely with students who require additional support and remediation in Reading and/or English/Language Arts. The Reading Interventionist is instrumental in identifying learning gaps, designing targeted intervention plans, providing personalized instruction, and regularly monitoring students’ progress toward success. The Reading Interventionist must demonstrate expertise in district and state assessments to include administration and planning for improvement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work with small groups of students to improve reading skills through strategic interventions. Develop and implement individualized, skill-appropriate reading intervention plans to increase students’ conceptual understanding and procedural fluency in reading. Analyze baseline screening data, diagnostic data, progress monitoring data, and summative data to make instructional decisions about students and interventions. Analyze testing data to make instructional decisions for various intervention groups. Assist with instructional planning and the identification of resources to meet diverse students, as identified by district and state assessment data. Collaborate with teachers to group students based on learning needs. Participate in PLCs and MTSS process to review data and identify students who are not progressing. Collaborate with core English/Language Arts teachers and other educational professionals to align intervention strategies with core Reading and/or English/Language Arts instructional lessons. Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and school staff regarding intervention progress and strategies for continued improvement. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills. Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor/administrator. Education, Training and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred. Over three years experience as a Reading teacher or English/Language Arts teacher. Valid Colorado Teaching License with appropriate content endorsement. Knowledge of content standards and various types of assessments with an emphasis in the content area. Ability to analyze assessment data and design effective intervention plans. Ability to demonstrate competence with a wide range of instructional strategies. Ability to demonstrate successful use of specific intervention strategies with small groups of students. Good organization and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders within the school environment. Knowledge of and experience in Professional Learning Communities. Transcripts required. Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required. Note: Each college transcript shall be authentic, original or photocopy, bearing the embossed seal of the institution, the signature of the registrar, and including descriptive titles, course numbers, credits, and grades for each course listed and degrees earned, if any. For the purpose of these Rules, credits shall be in semester hours or may be interpreted as meaning the equivalent in quarter, trimester, unit or term.
