Summary
Hartford Neighborhood Centers is looking to fill the position of Administrative Assistant.
The hours are Monday – Friday from 8AM to 4PM. This position entails reception/front office work and food pantry client intake. There will be three paid weeks of training in December with an official start date on January 2, 2025.
We are looking for someone dedicated to serving the community of Hartford. This person will be hardworking with excellent time management skills. The ability to multitask, and work both independently and as part of a team is essential to this role.
Duties
The ideal candidate for this position will:
·Have experience working in diverse populations, including with the homeless community
·Experience using Microsoft office suite (primarily excel, word, and outlook)
·Ability to use a multi-line phone system and accurately direct calls throughout the building
·Can perform typical reception duties such as copy/print and data entry
·Keep up to date with Connecticut Food Share/ TEFAP guidelines and requirements
Requirements
The general job requirements include:
·Bilingual Spanish/English speaker (both written and spoken)
·A High School Diploma or equivalent
·Two years minimum in an office setting
·Ability to regularly lift 50lbs
