GENERAL SUMMARY:
We are a Sterile Compounding Pharmacy seeking a Compounding Pharmacist with the ability to represent our company and themselves professionally. Ideally this person will also possess excellent communication skills; reading and writing as well as the ability to speak clearly and be sympathetic toward client’s needs.
Sterile Compounding Pharmacist will be actively involved in the production of and supervise a team of pharmacy technicians in the compounding of medications.

Job Description:
- Prepare sterile batches;
- Compound sterile products with an emphasis on high risk preparations;
- Consistently demonstrate aseptic technique through the compounding process;
- Supervise a team of pharmacy technicians in batch making and compounding;
- Manage inventory and product procurement;
- Manage clean room equipment and overall cleanroom facilities, including cleaning and monitory quality control and quality assurance;
- Interpret prescriptions and interact with physicians and their staffs to clarify discrepancies and rectify omissions in processing of orders;
- Perform mathematical calculations necessary for complex compounding;
Sterile Compounding:
- Utilize aseptic technique in the preparation of all sterile products;
- Aseptically don sterile garment and appropriate personal protective equipment;
- Review prescriptions for completion and accurately generate compounding document;
- Accurately and aseptically compound sterile preparations into syringes and vials, etc.;
- Properly use all compounding equipment such as balances and measuring devices;
- Adapt to changes in policies and procedures according to changes in laws affecting the pharmacy;
Non-Sterile Compounding:
- Prepare patient drug orders according to procedure;
- Select correct medication, strength and dosage form;
- Count, measure, weigh, and pour medications as necessary;
- Generate compounding document per policies and procedures;
Additional Responsibilities:
- Communicate openly and respectfully with fellow team members;
- Train new technicians.
- Notify Director of Operations of any issues regarding orders.
- Communicate stock utilization and ordering needs to the Production Manager.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an Accredited Program
- Licensure as a pharmacist in the State of California, and in good standing
- One year compounding experience preferred
Hours of Operation:
Monday through Friday 9am-5:30pm
Expected to work overtime and weekends based on business necessity. Must be able to work when required.
