Job Title: Quality Inspector
Department: Quality
Reports to: Quality Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary: A Quality Inspector is responsible for verifying the conformance of finished goods and materials to engineering documents and customer contracts, and for ensuring the tools used for that verification are within their calibration window. A Quality Inspector must also be able to report findings in required documentation and provide feedback to relevant personnel regarding the status of inspected items. This individual has the responsibility and authority to perform assigned tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Inspect parts during the setup phase of an operation and document on in-process reports.
2. Verify incoming material meets customer requirements by evaluating the material certification
3. Inspect parts after outside operations have been completed
4. Inspect parts after all operations have been completed and document results on final inspection report
5. Accept or Reject parts based on the results of inspection/verification.
6. Place discrepant items on hold per company procedures
7. Ensure gaging is being used in a manner conforming to QSP 7.1.5. – Calibration
8. Issue gaging to machines as required.
9. Provide gaging use and blueprint reading training as needed
10. Perform corrective action and root cause analysis as assigned
11. Use email, word processing, and calculation software as needed to perform assigned tasks
12. Other duties as required

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
