What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler/Machine Operator position at Hassell & Hughes Lumber Company?

Starting Pay depends on work history and experience
Job Responsibilities:
-Operate machinery used in the production process of making hardwood flooring and/or lumber products
-General Labor in a flooring or lumber mill setting, including bagging and stacking pellets
-Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected, notify operators of any malfunctions
-General cleanup duties including sweeping, picking up or shoveling debris, dispose of all sawdust dropped in work area.
Qualifications:
-Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs consistently.
-Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and perform heavy physical labor in a variety of environments (both inside and out). Must be able to negotiate steps, rough terrain, as well as push, pull, bend, twist, and climb as a part of daily job activities
-Must have reliable transportation
-Must have ability to follow directions, and work independently or with a team to meet production goals
-Must be able to work in a noisy industrial environment, as well as around wood dust/saw dust.
-Must adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
-Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
