Hastings Early Child Development Center is seeking an Early Childhood teacher to work with children ages 18 months - 36 months. The toddler teacher must passionately support young children’s play, exploration, social-emotional growth, and creative/critical thinking skills while working collaboratively to provide the highest quality child care to families.
Under the direction of the director, you are responsible for helping setup and maintain the physical environment of the classroom, assisting with planning an exciting and dynamic educational curriculum, and collaborating with teachers and other members of the team at Hastings Early Child Development Center.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, education, or child/youth development OR
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least six credit hours in early childhood education, education or child/youth development OR
- Have an associate degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, education or child/youth development OR
- Have a Child Development Associate Credential OR
- Have a high school diploma or GED and 3,000 clock hours of verifiable experience in organized group activities for children age birth to 13 as indicated by a positive reference from a former employer or supervisor
- Must pass state and company background checks
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide nurturing, sensitive, and individualized care to children Monday through Friday, full-time, year-round with other fun, experienced teachers!
- Model developmentally appropriate and professional early childhood teaching practices, and set a fun and collaborative tone for the classroom
- Ensure the classroom environment and procedures meet Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services standards at all times.
- Maintain a clean and inviting classroom
- Using a team-like approach, communicate effectively and openly with parents, teachers, and director; as well as develop mutually supportive relationships that help build a community-type environment. Your voice matters!
- Support and model positive discipline that follows Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services standards.
- Supervise classroom activities in a proactive, patient, and loving manner.
- Participate in all Hastings Early Child Development Center activities including, but not limited to: professional development, staff meetings and events, social events, special projects, field trips, class celebrations, and parent-teacher conferences
- Other duties as assigned
WAGES AND COMPENSATION
- Salary will depend upon experience, ranging from $25,000 - $30,000 a year or $12.00 - $16.00 per hour.
