This role goes beyond traditional marketing – as the Commercial Marketing Specialist you will act as a skilled negotiator and strategist, collaborating directly with Property and Casualty insurance carriers to secure competitive pricing and optimal coverage tailored to each client’s unique needs. You’ll manage the marketing process for new business opportunities, handle larger and more complex renewals as needed, and partner with agents to craft effective marketing strategies.
- Systems Management: Accurately and efficiently uses and updates our internal databases. Utilizes various agency systems to ensure smooth operations and organize data. Utilize our systems for documentation, sending submissions, and creating proposals.
- Communication: Present information clearly, concisely, and accurately. Communicates at a level appropriate to the audience and provides a level of detail necessary for the situation. Serve as a key point of contact for internal teams and carrier partners, ensuring the timely prioritization of client needs and deadlines. Additionally, you’ll offer technical support on coverage and carrier appetite and build strong carrier relationships by actively participating in carrier events. Participate in proposal presentations when appropriate.
- Organization: Efficiently navigate internal resources to streamline the marketing process, ensuring seamless collaboration with client teams. Establish and manage realistic timelines for requests, follow-ups, and renewal updates, ensuring smooth delivery of services. Establish, prioritize, and organize tasks and objectives to manage time and resources appropriately. Provide thorough coverage analysis to ensure quotes align with client needs, develop professional proposals for new and renewal business.
Requirements

- 3 years of Property & Casualty insurance experience strongly preferred. Prior experience in a commercial marketing capacity, including carrier negotiations, strongly preferred.
- Experience with Applied Epic is preferred.
- Obtain and maintain a Wisconsin Property & Casualty Insurance license within 90 days of hire.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to work in a stationary position 90% of the time.
- Constantly able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery 90% of the time.
- Constantly able to observe details, including letters, numbers and colors, at close range.
- Able to move or transport objects weighing up to 20lbs. Frequency and duration will vary.
Working Conditions:
- Position will be based in Madison, Wisconsin or Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- Regularly work during our core business hours: Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required. Estimating 0-20% regional travel; travel will be to client locations throughout Wisconsin (day trips).
