Position Overview:

V&E Hospitality Group is seeking talented and passionate individuals to join our culinary team as Line Cooks. The Line Cook is an essential member of our kitchen brigade, responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes with precision and consistency. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients and follow established recipes to ensure accurate portioning and consistent quality of dishes.
  2. Cooking: Execute cooking techniques and methods to prepare a variety of menu items, including grilling, sautéing, frying, roasting, and plating dishes for service.
  3. Quality Control: Maintain high standards for food quality, taste, and presentation. Conduct quality checks at every stage of preparation.
  4. Timing: Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient preparation and delivery of orders during busy service periods.
  5. Cleanliness and Sanitation: Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper storage, labeling, and handling of ingredients and equipment.
  6. Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels, ensuring ingredients are stocked, and notifying the kitchen manager of any shortages.
  7. Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow cooks, chefs, and kitchen staff to create a positive and efficient work environment. Be willing to assist in other areas of the kitchen as needed.
  8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and kitchen policies.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar culinary role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of culinary techniques, including knife skills, cooking methods, and food preparation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Positive attitude and a passion for culinary arts.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Culinary school or related certification is a plus.

Physical qualifications:

·       Ability to move throughout the dining room effectively.

·       Ability to lift and carry serving trays weighing up to 15lbs and bus tubs weighing up to 40 lbs.

·       Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions.
