What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Pathologist position at Hawaii Pathologists Laboratory?
Hawaii Pathologists Laboratory (HPL) is seeking a full-time Surgical Pathologist. Our pathology group covers the largest private, non-profit hospital system in Honolulu, Hawaii, with four hospitals across the state. The hospital system is a recognized NIH Community Cancer Center, accredited by the Commission on Cancer, an NAPBC Breast Cancer Center of Excellence, and a Level 1 trauma center. The group includes a broad spectrum of surgical pathology subspecialties.
Position Overview :
The successful candidate will be board certified in Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP / CP), with fellowship training in Surgical Pathology preferred. Additional fellowship training is welcome but not required. The position involves handling a broad range of specimens, participating in tumor boards, covering frozen sections and FNAs, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams. Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work collaboratively are essential.
Qualifications :
Board certification in AP or AP / CP.
Fellowship training in Surgical Pathology (preferred).
Excellent communication skills with commitment to quality patient care.
Experience with breast pathology is a plus.
