HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union is currently seeking an experienced, member-focused Senior Applications Engineer to join our Applications Teams. Join our Life Matters Movement and make a positive difference in people’s lives!About this Role:
This role will be responsible for programming of highly complex new/existing solutions integrated with Symitar Episys using PowerOn programming language and provide functional and technical expertise to internal clients. This includes banking/credit union core and complimentary products. You will also be designing, developing, testing, and delivering hardware/software solutions, conduct maintenance and coordinate with various business units.
To be successful in this role, you must have a great understanding of the SDLC life cycle and have experience in complex technical support including, but not limited to familiarity with network, server applications, VM (virtual machines) environments. The Applications Engineer is also responsible for creating and maintaining documentation and knowledge transfer materials. The main goals of this position is incident resolution and application support.
The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 5-7 years in any programming language experience acquired through education and/or professional job experience.
Bachelor’s degree preferred in the field of Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other related majors preferred
Knowledge of MS SQL Server Administration and/or programming
Experience in improving existing software application processes
Solid understanding of VMs, NAS, Unix, Shell programming and mainframe systems
Demonstrated project management abilities and technical support with analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
Experience in assessing customer base and making recommendations to satisfy needs
Operational knowledge of condition monitoring and associate applications
Hands on experience in managing processes especially within a financial institution environment
Solid organizational, presentation, prioritizing, and facilitation skills
Written (correspondence and documentation) and Oral communication skills from both spectrums (technical and user-friendly perspective)
Knowledge of Financial Services industry – credit unions or banking
Ability to strongly work both independently and within a team environment
Solid understanding of SDLC life cycle until project completion/implementation
Ability to handle all confidential matters professionally, maintaining and protecting the members and Hawaii USA FCU information
Must be able to be available on-call 24x7. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines
