As the Senior Staff Accountant, your main responsibilities will be:
- Support the Controller in the monthly financial close process
- Responsible for general ledger account reconciliations, related analysis, and monthly recurring entries for a large number of accounts.
- Identify, analyze, document, and correct errors as needed
- Responsible for maintenance and updates within the Time and Expense module
- Responsible for weekly timesheet management and processing
- Biweekly labor to payroll reconciliation and related entries
- Bank account reconciliations
- Support Accounts Payable function, review vouchers, approve new vendors, and act as a backup as needed.
- Support revenue recognition and related ASC 606 checklists
- Working knowledge / understanding of ASC 842
- Develop policies and procedures for areas of responsibility. Formally document and update as needed
- Support annual independent audit to include direct engagement with the auditors and preparing required schedules
- Identify opportunities to drive efficiencies and improvements
- Other duties as assigned
Essential education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 3 years’ experience in a corporate accounting environment
- Deltek Costpoint experience with a focus on General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Projects
- Deltek Time and Expense hands on experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles with recent experience on ASC 606 and ASC 842
- Ability to critically think and take action as required
- Ability to understand complex transactions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask
- Comfortable in a small but very fast paced environment, and with working with individuals at all levels within the organization
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Experience with SAP Concur Expense Management system
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience in defense contracting environment

Salary : $90,000 - $135,000
