The Strut Mill Operator is responsible for safely executing the varied responsibilities to meet the production schedule and quality targets for strut production.
Job Description & Expectation from Role are but not limited to:
- Responsible for change-over and operation of mills.
- Responsible for mill productivity and coordination of mill team.
- Perform continuous quality checks on the products and adjust the machine settings as required.
- Prepare proper labels for production, ensure stamps are correct and fill out the required documentation.
- Troubleshoot and adjust machine as needed. • Maintain integrity of equipment and report issues to supervisor or maintenance immediately.
- Perform routine maintenance and/or assist maintenance as needed, along with keeping accurate machine maintenance records.
- Support and provide input for continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain cleanliness of area according to 5S principles to provide a safe and effective working space.
- Support with on-the-job training as needed.
- Support in all areas as needed and requested by supervisor (including, but not limited to, Material Handler).
Required Skills & Experience:
- Min 4 years of manufacturing experience operating machines and/or mechanical work.
- Able to trouble shoot basic machine issues. • Ability to proactively resolve issues and scale it when needed.
- CNC / Welding / Mechanical experience is highly desirable.
- Able to read schematics or blueprints is desirable.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and ensure accuracy.
- Must be able to use measuring devices.
- Commitment to safety and to adhere to all safety rules.
- Demonstrates ability to work in team, treat colleagues with respect and has a high level of accountability / punctuality.
- Willingness to be cross-trained and rotate through all business functions as required by business needs.
- Proven record of strong attendance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment. • Ability to withstand repetitive movements such as bending and lifting. • Must be able to co-lift up to 60 lbs. repetitive and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. • Ability to stand for long periods of time. • The Candidate must be able to work overtime as needed.
