Position Overview:

Hays Electrical Services is seeking a proactive and experienced Fire Alarm Superintendent to lead field operations for our growing fire alarm division. This key role is responsible for overseeing the installation, quality control, and on-site coordination of fire alarm systems on commercial and high-rise multifamily projects.

The ideal candidate has a strong field background in fire alarm systems, leadership experience, and a solid understanding of NFPA codes, particularly NFPA 72. Prior experience with Autocall systems is preferred. If you’re ready to take ownership of fire alarm installations and drive results, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead fire alarm installations from start to finish, ensuring compliance with all project specifications and code requirements
• Supervise and coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and site activities related to fire alarm systems
• Conduct daily jobsite inspections to ensure safety, quality workmanship, and schedule adherence
• Interpret electrical and fire alarm drawings and delegate tasks accordingly
• Collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, and general contractors to address design or installation issues
• Ensure timely procurement of fire alarm materials and equipment in coordination with purchasing and warehousing
• Support inspections, testing, and commissioning with AHJs and third-party agencies
• Train, mentor, and develop field technicians and junior installers
• Document field progress, change orders, and labor tracking through daily reports and project logs
  
  

Qualifications:

• 5 years of field experience with fire alarm systems, including 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 72 and local fire alarm codes
• Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting Autocall systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams
• OSHA 30 and other safety certifications are a plus
• NICET Level II or higher preferred but not required
