Job Summary:
We are hiring an Underground Utility Technician to assist the Leadman and crew in day-to-day field operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Leadman with daily tasks on the job site, including setup, excavation, and installation.
- Operate heavy equipment (within certification limits) such as mini-excavators, trenchers, and skid steers.
- Follow instructions for trenching, conduit placement, backfill, and other underground work.
- Ensure proper safety practices are followed at all times.
- Help maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Assist in setting trench boxes, ladders, and traffic control devices as needed.
- Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment.
- Work cooperatively with crew members to maintain production goals.
- Operator’s License for Heavy Equipment

- Trenching & Excavation Safety
- Competent Person Certification
- Silica Awareness / Ladder Safety
- 1–3 years of experience in underground construction or utility work.
- Ability to take direction and work in a team setting.
- Basic understanding of site safety, excavation, and underground utility practices.
- Willingness to learn and grow into a more senior role.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in trenches, confined spaces, and various weather conditions.
- Able to stand, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
