Position: Alarm Service Technician

Location: San Diego, CA

Pay: $37 to $41/hour

Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the security and fire alarm industry (installation or service).

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Fire & Life Safety Certification preferred or in progress.

Type: Full-time; Contract

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

HB Staffing is seeking an Alarm Service Technician to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

• Service and program residential and commercial security, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and life safety systems.
• Test and troubleshoot repairs on-site in compliance with NFPA codes and company policy.
• Perform programming changes to alarm and access control panels via laptop, keypad, or programmer.
• Provide customer training and technical support for serviced systems.
• Complete service-related paperwork and time cards accurately and on time.
• Maintain company-issued vehicle, tools, and inventory to required standards.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and sales staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Attend safety meetings and training sessions to stay current on codes, procedures, and new technologies.
  
  

Position Requirements:

• Strong working knowledge of burglar alarm, fire alarm, access control, and CCTV systems.
• Proficiency with NFPA codes and ability to apply them to service work.
• Valid California Driver’s License with a clean DMV record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a California Alarm Company Employee registration card (company covers cost).
• Experience with system programming, diagnostics, and service documentation.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs., climb ladders, and work at heights up to 75 feet.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Google Suite.
