Job Summary And Qualifications
The Lead Surgical Technologist delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing various functions to support the efficient operation of the surgical suite. Under the supervision of the Circulating RN, the Lead Surgical Technologist prepares the surgical suite, positions and prepares the patient, and provides instruments, equipment, and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure. The Lead Surgical Technologist ensures a sterile field, proper instrument counts, and proper operation of instruments and equipment. The Lead Surgical Technologist participates in patientspecific care as directed and follows service excellence standards to promote optimum patient satisfaction. In addition, the Lead Surgical Technologist assists with ongoing training and/or precepting of new and current employees as directed by the supervisor. The Lead Surgical Technologist is responsible for ensuring new processes, equipment and other changes are communicated and/or taught to other Surgical Technologists.

- Vocational Training Program in Surgical Technology
- Currently certified as a Surgical Technologist preferred
- BLS Certification required
