POSITION SUMMARY: The Sterile Processing Lead Tech is experienced in all aspects as of Sterile Processing. He/she is knowledgeable regarding instrumentation, equipment and supply needs for all types of surgical procedures. She/he is accountable for promoting high levels of employee, patient and physician satisfaction. Promotes optimal patient outcomes, while maintaining appropriate productivity standards. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in instrument handling and sterilization. Performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan for SRMC. Follows and supports SRMC policy and procedures. Displays positive support for the values and mission of SRMC. Provides education on sterilization, instrumentation, and equipment. Oversees the processing, handling and storage of sterile instruments and equipment. Assembles surgical trays and supplies as needed. Operates all equipment in the sterile processing department as well as the facility – L&D, STJC OR and the Main OR, etc.
