General Statement of Duties


Work in this classification generally includes activities such as skilled typing, screening calls and visitors, organization and daily maintenance of a comprehensive filing system, and operation of office equipment. Demonstration of initiative in all work and ability to make independent judgments in accordance with established practices and guidelines. Dealing with sensitive or confidential materials on a regular basis and demonstrating responsibility to the administrator to whom assigned.

Vacancy posting is open until filled. This is a 260-days (12 months), 8 hours/day position. Minimum annual salary is $41,517.69 (
Note for the 2024/2025 school year: The salary for this position will be prorated based upon the official start date.)


Essential Duties


  • Assists the ESOL and GED coordinators;
  • Generates reports - must have excellent computer skills (Word Processing and Excel);
  • Processes payroll;
  • Collect money and prepare receipts and bank deposits (as needed);
  • Update and maintain databases;
  • Operates standard office equipment;
  • Works as part of a team; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students' equipment, materials, and facilities;
  • Complies with division regulations and policies;
  • Performs related tasks as assigned by administrators in accordance with school practices and policies;
  • Takes and dispatches messages accurately and efficiently;
  • Experience with PowerSchool is preferred;
  • Registers new students/withdraws students;
  • Prepares and sends records to other schools for transfer students;
  • Attends training as needed;

  • Performs other duties as requested.


Minimum Qualifications


Graduation from high school. Knowledge of arithmetic and English grammar and punctuation; skill in typing; ability to read, spell, proofread, organize, use the phone, listen, understand and follow directions, write legibly; ability to schedule and coordinate meetings and conferences; ability to interpret written materials and to communicate verbally; ability to learn the policies, procedures and services provided by the administrator and the location to which assigned; ability to enter and verify data; accuracy, tact; good judgment. Working knowledge of computers and various software packages. Demonstrated ability for details and adhering to deadlines; maintaining confidentiality; ability to organize and prioritize; maintain a neat and organized workspace; and greeting the public in a courteous and professional manner.
