Duties: Primary duties of HDR's Traffic Engineer include:
Requirements: Master's Degree in Civil Engineering and 6 months' experience in traffic/transportation engineering or a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years' experience in traffic/transportation engineering.
Education must include coursework in traffic and/or transportation engineering.
Required experience may include professional, internship, or graduate research experience.
Proficiency in: Synchro/Sim Traffic; HCS; and MicroStation. Proficiency may have been gained through academic program or professional, internship, or graduate research experience.
Engineer-in-Training or equivalent certification required; Professional Engineering licensure is not a prerequisite for this position.

- Working on traffic forecasting, analysis, and design needs for a variety of transportation projects, including:

- Crash analysis and mitigation strategies;
- Signing and striping;
- Temporary traffic control; and
- Traffic signals; and

- Performing operational traffic analyses using a variety of modeling tools ranging from highway capacity software to complex micro-simulation models for projects including isolated intersections and roundabouts to urban arterials and freeway segments.
